Mapalad Energy Generating Corporation (MEGC) was incorporated in the Philippines on February 24, 2011 to engage in generating energy, by either diesel, coal or biomass, for distribution to Iligan Light and Power, Inc. (ILPI), the utility franchise holder in Iligan City, and to other electric utilities in Northern Mindanao. At present, MEGC has two 7.5MW diesel-fired generating sets ready for commercial operations. It is located in Sitio Mapalad, Dalipuga, Iligan City and will serve the needs of Iligan Light and Power Inc.
